Hi, I am looking for a font that has a degree symbol with a period (decimal point) centered under the degree symbol. I am using Minion Pro for my book. I have tried kernling the decimal point under the degree symbol, but it screws-up and leaves me with uneven spacing (lines are justified). Any clue what font family contains the charecter that I'm searching for? Might it be in a mathemical or geography font? I need this for map work. I've checked the fonts that came with Indesign, but nothing, unless I missed the target. Thanks. Bob

Hi, I meant "period" in the title of my question. Bob

With InDesign (CS3 on a Mac) I don't have a justification problem when I kern one character under another. Are you sure you are kerning (cursor in the space between the two characters) and not tracking (drag selecting the first character)?

    Hi evansreb,
Thanks for the suggestion. When I created this same kern with a degree symbol and decimal point in FrameMaker (7.0) on a PC, I did not have the crazy uneven justification problem. I have converted my book files to Indesign CS4 on my iMac (what a pain, because the book is over 800 pages). I have my special charecter in a separate file and when I need it, I open the file and copy and past the charecter into the book file where needed. I'll give your suggestion a try and see what happens, but it shure would be nice if some tyopgrapher had created this charecter as a single charecter. That is what I'm looking for, but thanks for making your suggestion. Bob
