I keep getting the following error when I try to print an Indesign CS2 file. I've placed a PDF on one page and it seems to be this that's causing the problem. Is it the way I created the PDF or maybe the way I'm printing the Indesign file?
There's always the right way, the wrong way, and whatever works. I'd take a look at the properties of that pdf in Acrobat and be interested in whether the fonts are embedded and the application that created it. (MSWord may have applied a style to the font that the font does not support) Pdf's without fonts embedded usually return a clear and different warning dialog however.
Along the whatever works route, rasterize that pdf at 300, 600 or 1200 dpi in Photoshop, replace the link and print. (It may not be the best way, but this is just an isolated case)
Thanks. I've looked into it further and think it may be the rip in our printer as it exports and prints to PDF fine but I get the error when I try in print it.
One way around it is to open the PDF in Illustrator and convert all text to artwork but I was being lazy and trying to avoid this!
